Psalm 68:19 (NIV) – Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior, who daily bears our burdens.
Being in Christ doesn’t mean we won’t have burdens to carry in this earthly life. Many times, I would have surely crumbled beneath the weight of things, but He is my Burden-Bearer. I can cast my every care upon Him, no matter how small or how big. When life’s struggles have us weary and worn, HE bends down and lifts them off and carries them. At that moment when He comes, His peace fills our soul, joy fills our heart, and we can breathe again. Our hope is renewed. All because the “Burden-Bearer” came.
The joy of the Lord is our strength! When darkness surrounds, and we cry out, He gives us eyes to see Him drawing near. He gives us contentment in the difficult place. Without fail, Jesus is there! He holds us fast and calms all our fears. The peace that surrounds is a peace that surpasses all understanding.
If this is a place you are finding yourself in, call out to Him and hear Him say, I am here! I am with you. Give it all to me. You are not alone.
JANUARY 24, 2025 Psalm 77:18 The voice of Your thunder was in the whirlwind; the lightnings lit up the world; the earth trembled and shook. When we see a flash of lightning, we witness an awesome display of God’s might. In just an instant, the air temperature can be heated to as high as 50,000 degrees Fahrenheit, […]
JANUARY 23, 2025 Psalm 77:16-17 The waters saw You, O God; the waters saw You, they were afraid. The depths also trembled. The clouds poured out water; the skies sent out a sound. From the very beginning of Creation, water has been a constant. In fact, there is no record of when God spoke water into […]
JANUARY 22, 2025 Psalm 77:14-15 You are the God who does wonders; You have declared Your strength among the peoples. You have with Your arm redeemed Your people. Each year at Passover, the traditional meal eaten to remember Israel’s deliverance from Egyptian bondage includes the shank bone of lamb. Obviously this is to call attention to the fact that […]
JANUARY 21, 2025 Psalm 77:5-6 I have considered the days of old, the years of ancient times. I call to remembrance my song in the night; I meditate within my heart, and my spirit makes diligent search. If you read the few verses that precede those above, you will see that the psalmist recounts intense apprehension […]
JANUARY 20, 2025 Psalm 77:1 To the Chief Musician. To Jeduthun. A Psalm of Asaph. I cried out to God with my voice — to God with my voice and He gave ear to me. It is acknowledged in Jewish commentary that the psalmist Asaph possessed a unique gift — the ability to find something to […]
JANUARY 18, 2025 Psalm 76:10 Surely the wrath of man shall praise You; with the remainder of wrath You shall gird Yourself. This verse, at first glance, is quite puzzling; how can man’s wrath produce praise for God? Our Jewish friends offer some insight to this which, in my view, not only makes sense but […]
JANUARY 17, 2025 Psalm 76:7-9 You, Yourself, are to be feared; and who may stand in Your presence when once You are angry? You caused judgment to be heard from heaven; the earth feared and was still, when God arose to judgment, to deliver all the oppressed of the earth. Selah. There is a belief in Judaism that when the […]
JANUARY 16, 2025 Psalm 76:4 You are more glorious and excellent than the mountains of prey. Keep in mind that this psalm is speaking prophetically, and specifically of the day when God’s people are gathered unto Him, in other words, at the end of the present exile. That being so, this verse hints at what will transpire when […]
JANUARY 15, 2025 Psalm 76:1-3 In Judah God is known; His name is great in Israel. In Salem also is His tabernacle, and His dwelling place in Zion. There He broke the arrows of the bow, the shield and sword of battle. There is coming a day when Jerusalem, referred to by Asaph as Salem, will be the center of the […]
