This article, printed in the April 1982 issue of the VOE magazine, recaps one of the great revivals that people who attended remember to this day. Here the pastor talks about that revival.
REVIVAL IN DAISY, TENNESSEE CONCLUDES AFTER 7 ½ WEEKS
According to the local Pastor, Rev. Aaron Cooper, over 500 souls were converted to Christ, over 570 were filled with the Holy Ghost, over 100 baptized in water, and over 50 converts united with the local church. The crusade has had a dynamic effect on all the sponsoring Pentecostal churches. The pastor recalled:
It was a cold Sunday night on January 17, 1982. The biting winter air made its way across the Tennessee hills.
Little did anyone realize that God Almighty was about to light a fire in the small community of Daisy that would burn all the way into Chattanooga and North Georgia. The heat of God’s anointing would change the lives of over 570 souls who would be filled with the Holy Ghost. They came from miles around, Church of God, Assemblies of God, Baptist, Methodist, Catholic, and in fact, 12 different denominations were present.
On many nights, while Rev. Stone was preaching, the anointing would become so strong that people would receive the Holy Spirit while in their pews or making their way down the aisle.
During the entire 7-1/2 weeks, over 500 souls were won to Jesus. Many who had never experienced salvation received new joy, peace, and sins forgiven!
Backsliders prayed through. Sinners were saved and received victory! Many husbands who had never accepted Christ were converted and filled with the Holy Ghost. What a joy to see wives rejoice after seeing their husbands saved!
Many young married couples were born again and now have a happier home!
The local church had very few teenagers before the revival. Now a new class called Skybound is being led by 4 young ministers from Lee College. They are directing 50-70 new teenagers in the class (most of whom were converted and filled with the Holy Ghost during the revival).
On many nights, 30 minutes before service, the building was packed to capacity (the choir was packed, too).
A record-breaking revival attendance was set on a Tuesday night. Many were turned away, unable to gain entrance into the building.
God receives all praise, honor, and glory for the wonderful results of this revival. I feel honored and humbled that God would permit me to minister His Word to so many wonderful people. Thank you, Lord!
