JANUARY 25, 2024 Psalm 25:14 The secret of the Lord is with those who fear Him, and He will show them His covenant. For years I have shared with people the notion that God likes to play Hide-N-Seek. I base this idea on several passages, namely one penned by David’s son, Solomon. He said, “It is the glory of […]
JANUARY 24, 2024 Psalm 25:12-13 Who is the man that fears the Lord? Him shall He teach in the way He chooses. He himself shall dwell in prosperity, and his descendants shall inherit the earth. In Hebrew, the word translated as “the man” is ha’ish thus hinting that David might have been speaking of a specific person rather than just men […]
JANUARY 23, 2024 Psalm 25:9-10 The humble He guides in justice, and the humble He teaches His way. All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth, to such as keep His covenant and His testimonies. Biblically speaking, humility tends to go hand in hand with repentance; those who regret their sins will humble themselves before God, […]
JANUARY 22, 2024 Psalm 25:8-9 Good and upright is the Lord; therefore He teaches sinners in the way. The humble He guides in justice, and the humble He teaches His way. In these first few words, David reaffirms a truth: in everything He does, the Creator is always good and upright. There is no crookedness, evil or underhandedness […]
JANUARY 21, 2024 Psalm 25:6-7 Remember, O Lord, Your tender mercies and Your loving kindnesses, For they are from of old. Do not remember the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions; according to Your mercy remember me, for Your goodness’ sake, O Lord. With so much suffering and chaos in the world, it is important for us to remember that […]
JANUARY 20, 2024 Psalm 25:4-5 Show me Your ways, O Lord; teach me Your paths. Lead me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation; on You I wait all the day. As Messiah taught us, the way (or path if you will) that leads to life is narrow and, very often, […]
JANUARY 19, 2024 Psalm 25:4-5 Show me Your ways, O Lord; teach me Your paths. Lead me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation; on You I wait all the day. In Hebrew, God is sometimes referred to as Ein Sof — There is no end — in order to “describe” […]
JANUARY 18, 2024 Psalm 25:1-3 To You, O Lord, I lift up my soul. O my God, I trust in You; let me not be ashamed; let not my enemies triumph over me. Indeed, let no one who waits on You be ashamed. In the days when Israel had a Sanctuary, if someone sinned there were sacrifices that could […]
JANUARY 17, 2024 Psalm 24:7-10 Lift up your heads, O you gates! And be lifted up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle. Lift up your heads, O you gates! Lift up, you everlasting doors and the King of glory shall come […]
JANUARY 16, 2024 Psalm 24:7-10 Lift up your heads, O you gates! And be lifted up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle. Lift up your heads, O you gates! Lift up, you everlasting doors and the King of glory shall come […]
JANUARY 15, 2024 Psalm 24:6 This is Jacob, the generation of those who seek Him, who seek Your face. Selah. As we begin to consider this passage and how it might inspire, it is important to bear in mind the things we have gleaned from the previous verses, especially in regard to being sons and daughters of God — […]
JANUARY 14, 2024 Psalm 24:3-5 Who may ascend into the hill of the Lord? Or who may stand in His holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who has not lifted up his soul to an idol, nor sworn deceitfully. He shall receive blessing from the Lord, and righteousness from the God of his salvation. Before […]
