He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who has not lifted up his soul to an idol, nor sworn deceitfully. He shall receive blessing from the Lord, and righteousness from the God of his salvation. It […]

JANUARY 10, 2023 Psalm 24:1-2 The earth is the Lord’s, and all its fullness, the world and those who dwell therein. For He has founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the waters. Consider this scenario: a very wealthy man builds a great housing complex replete with all the latest amenities, sparing no expense in the process. Upon completion […]
JANUARY 9, 2023 Psalm 23:6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. In Hebrew, the words “goodness” and “mercy” are tov and chesed respectively. The first of these words, tov, denotes things that function as they were intended; in other […]
JANUARY 8, 2024 Psalm 23:5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; my cup runs over. It is always been of great interest to me that God situated the land of Israel in one of the most violent and explosive regions on earth. In fact, I’ve […]

Sometimes life is not all about lush, green pastures and clear running streams; sometimes the ground is parched and the […]
JANUARY 4, 2023 Psalm 23:2-3 He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. In these verses, David continued to speak of the LORD as his (and our) shepherd and how, being the Good […]
JANUARY 3, 2023 Psalm 23:1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. David makes a simple and profound statement; as long as God is our Shepherd, we will never lack in anything that is necessary to live and fulfill His purpose. On one level, no doubt, David was addressing material necessities — our daily bread as it […]
JANUARY 2, 2024 Psalm 23:1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. In just these few words, so much is revealed to us about God Himself and what He looks for in His people. In temporal ways, what is more lowly and, some might argue, more degrading than a simple shepherd who walks behind a bunch of […]
